1. Purpose

Due to a file date bug in some versions of Windows (but not all versions of Windows) daylight savings time changes may cause all of the icons in your REBOL/IOS desktop to turn red (indicating that they have been modified).

If this occurs, the reblet below can be used to clear the IOS desktop icons by resetting their file dates to the correct values that are known by IOS. The correction is made only to IOS files on your local computer, and the contents of files will not be affected nor will you need to download the files again from the server.

2. Installing

The reset-date.r reblet is easy to download and install.

  • To download the application, click (or right click, depending on your browser) on this link http://www.reboltech.com/express/apps/reset-dates.r and save the file to your disk.
  • To install the application, just publish the file downloaded above to your Utilities folder (or to any other folder where users can have access to it).
  • Click on the icon to run it. The program will list all files that as their file dates are adjusted.

3. Possible Side Effects

If you use other applications inside or outside of IOS that separately track file dates (such as backup programs or web site uploaders), they may detect the above file date corrections as changes to the file.
